I've walked past Re Del Gelato a dozen times and they never seem to be open. Their hours are listed as 10 AM to 11 PM every day, but catching them before noon is quite challenging. Was walking past today at 11:20 AM with Mini Meatball and one of the doors was slightly ajar. I poked my head in and called out. The staff were out back and noted they were having a late start, but offered to pull some Gelato from the freezer for us. The only issue was that their flavours weren't listed anywhere (they are usually labeled within the case, but that was dark and empty), so I asked if they had raspberry and went with that. $4.50 for a small scoop in a cup is pretty steep for gelato that was pretty average (3). Best gelato I've had in the past year was from Milano Gelateria at Stones Corner (and that includes trying Messina's pop-up shop outside GOMA).
We were really in the mood for gelato when we went here and with fairly strong Zomato reviews we thought we would not be disappointed. Unfortunately we were. The 3 flavours we bought and the others we tasted were just disappointing. This is some of the most flavourless gelato I have ever had. Won't be back.
Very nice gelato and nice staff! Price reasonable, the top popular macada caramel chocolate one is highly recommended. Nice place to talk with friends after dinner.
