My hubby and I have been visiting this restaurant for the past 18 months and the food has always been good... but they have just changed their chef and now the food is absolutley AWESOME! I am the kind of person who will travel 100km + for good chinese (and have done in the past many times) but now there's no need for the big drive! The staff are friendly, the meals come out quickly and are piping hot! Definitely rec... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Lotus Room:
You could get pretty much anything on the menu at any Chinese restaurant in the land, so there's not much that sets this one apart from others. Food was OK without being anything special. A little on the pricey side for what you get. View all feedback.
I have a weakness for Curried King Prawns and Singapore Noodles, and the Lotus Room knows how to make them perfectly. Even though I was alone in a new city, the staff made me feel very welcome. The food was delicious, but there was so much of it that I had to take leftovers home. It only cost me under $35, but I was able to enjoy the same meal twice. If you enjoy good food, they have a large menu for both dining in and takeaway options. The restaurant is easy to access, with a large car park next to the entrance and just a short walk from Enoggera Railway Station.
Yum cha buffet to be ordered off a menu!! The dumplings were rubbery and the pork smelt bad. It wasn’t off but just smelt bad. On the menu was Chinese seasonal vegetables. Which was literally steamed Bok choy with some oyster sauce sprinkled on top. Salt and pepper calamari was just deep fried frozen calamari rings with no flavour at all!! We got served all the dishes except the fried rice, which we had to remind them of. Believe it or not, they couldn’t even make the rice properly! The special fried rice was hard, clumpy with no taste. I usually have just the fried rice and chilli oil when I go to a Chinese restaurant. Not here!! Will never go again!!
Good food and well catered for.there were 12 of us here for dinner and we all enjoyed our meal. The quality of food was excellent and we could BYO which was very economical
Our recent visit to this restaurant didn’t start off well. Despite having booked during the week prior, our arrival seemed to generate a little concern in the minds of the people who greeted us. After what appeared to be a bit of lateral thinking, we were seated around a table that appeared a little small for our group. There was no water on the table and it wasn’t until almost 30 minutes after our arrival that drinks were provided after 2 separate approaches to staff. At one stage, I suggested to others in my party, that I would walk out if the service didn’t improve within 5 minutes. Someone must have heard me, as food (ordered from a written summary) began to “pour out”. I can’t quite get my head around a yum cha buffet being ordered from a written menu. The food, at the very least, was freshly cooked and of reasonable quality. Despite this, I am unlikely to dine at this restaurant again.
The food at this restaurant is decent. I have ordered takeout from here multiple times. However, their phone etiquette leaves much to be desired. When you call, they simply answer "hello" and then there are long awkward silences because they don't seem to know what to say. It feels like you're calling someone's house rather than a professional business. They definitely need to work on their phone skills.
