We discovered this gem of a restaurant through Living Social and invited a couple of friends to join us for dinner. From start to finish our taste buds were in for a tantalising experience. The atmosphere was very homely and the lady who served us was always smiling and attentive. We have been back 3 times since that initial visit and this is now the place of our choice to entertain friends. Sounds odd but that was important as piece after piece of tough and inedible pieces of meat were deposited there. Yuk! This was not the melt in the mouth lamb I was expecting. When the waitress was told she smiled. Yes I was left pretty speechless at the poor meal as well. Although a vegetable curry was nice, the roti was disappointing. How can that be? It might also be a good idea to check on the level of spiciness... View all feedback.
Dirty restaurant, very ordinary food. Would not like to repeat the experience. It used to be so good for so long when it was Ashoka. It is horrible now ????
I should have realised after discovering the seriously wobbly table and the four-year old Brisbane City Council food handling certificate that this was not going to be good. Order taking was quick. Drink delivery slow. The food ... um.... The Rogan Josh was just terrible. The blend of flavours was so dreadful neither my wife or I could eat it. I like Indian food and this was like nothing I had experienced. This is clearly a family run restaurant where the staff are more interested in family dinner than looking after paying guests. Seriously, look at other options before this one. You have been warned.
My husband and I were looking for an Indian restaurant that we had not tried yet and was not too far from home so we did a goggle search and found this little gem.A very authentic experience, the atmosphere was relaxed and the food had a really wholesome feel as if we were guests in someones home, unpretentious and real freshly made good food. The waitress we had serve us had impeccable customer service skills and the perfect balance of being attentive yet not hovering over us.We had a really enjoyable experience at a very reasonable price as well.
The tandoori is better than the best we enjoyed anywhere in India (including a Pashwari banquet in a 5 star hotel in Agra) - is always perfect! If somebody knows where to buy better Indian food in Brisbane please tell me!
This is one of the worst meals we have had on a voucher deal, we were really looking forward to some delish indian fare but the food was such a disappointment! The shared platter for the entree tasted and looked like it had been reheated many times over, it was hard and dry and the Lamb Rogan Josh that many had raved about in previous reviews was a generous size and very tender, BUT it over the top salty that I could only tolerate a couple of mouthfuls before giving up on eating it. My husband's meal was ok, nothing to rave about and he usually finishes off what I don't eat but even he could not face how salty my dish was.We went early and the restaurant was almost empty, so the service should have been much better, the staff were lovely and friendly, and the ambience was fine, but it took ages between courses, and the meals weren't even worth the wait! We noticed a lady that had arrived alone and was seated, and she waited so long to have her order taken that she ended up just walking out. We won't be back or recommending this place. We won't be buying anymore meal deal vouchers, our last 2 experiences with them have been similar, I guess you get what you pay for and they are not really such a good deal after all. Live and learn.
