Costas Seafood Cafe - Brisbane

We visited Costa before the lockdown and I'm hoping they still offer takeout because the fish there was incredible. The cod, served in large, juicy steak-like portions, was cooked to perfection and accompanied by crunchy, grease-free batter and chunky chips. The service was also excellent; they even brought us a complimentary platter of fresh fruit after we finished our meal. Now that’s what I call great service!

I found Costa to be a great spot for affordable seafood. The crumbed oysters were fresh, generously sized, and perfectly deep-fried. The grilled fish burger was massive and flavorful. However, the small seafood salad and small fries were surprisingly large—more like a medium size—so we suggest offering a smaller portion suitable for 1-2 people. This way, diners can sample other dishes as well. Additionally, it would be convenient to have the complementary sauces available in a self-serve area, similar to the drinking water and glasses station at the corner.

The seafood is exceptionally fresh and of excellent quality, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming.

Definitely justified the crown of Queensland’s best at this year’s Fisheries Research Development Corporation Australian Fish and Chips Awards. Fish were superbly fresh and scrumptious. Very minimal oil residue on plates. Will be back!
