Not being able to book for a weekend breakfast is always a concern but we were seated within 5 minutes of arriving, our order was quickly taken and the food arrived soon after. The Boston beans and cheesy toast was absolutely divine especially if you...add a side of haloumi. The ricotta pancakes were also a hit and campos coffee is always good. Will definitely be back. I was doing research for my quest to find Brisbane's Best Bircher muesli when I came upon Lani's review for the version at Billy Kart Kitchen.
I came here for brunch with some old university friends on a Sunday It was super packed so I was happy my friend managed to snag a reservation.
We decided to check this place out on Sunday for brunchWe arrived around 10am and the place was buzzing.
I must admit that the menu was a little different to what I expected and perhaps does not suit someone that wants basic pub/restaurant type food. Finally making our choices though the food was very tasty and enjoyable. The staff were really friendly.
My husband and I arrived just before 11.30am Saturday 22 July. We were seated straight away and were told immediately that we may not be able to order from the breakfast menu as the chefs were in the process of transitioning between the breakfast and lunch menus. I have allergies (wheat, milk and nuts) and there were very few options on the lunch menu that suited and the menu was quite expensive for me to order something I really didn't want to eat. It was disappointing their chips are not gf, though they offered to accommooodate with a cheeseburger with sprouted gf bread and salad rather than chips. So I took a chance and asked if I could have an item off the breakfast menu and they checked with the chefs, who said no. I could handle that, but, it was now 11.34am and, after finally deciding for my husband to order something and me to just stick with my coffee and eat nothing, we asked for our lunch order to be taken and were told lunch orders would not be taken until 12pm, a fact they neglected to tell us when we were seated in the first place! Frustrated, we paid for my coffee and left. Hungry and disappointed!
