Go, you won’t be disappointed. We ended up dining here two nights in a row. The restaurant is run by a lovely couple who will make sure you don't leave hungry! We were a groups of 8 meat eaters, pescatarians and vegetarians but the owners made sure everyone was well catered for. (To a point where they even made a aubergine parmigiana for two of us who were vegetarian after we said we would be returning the next day .... View all feedback.
What Kayli Treutel doesn't like about Il Boccone:
The Pizza's taste was very good, unfortunately, when it became cold it was impossible to cut. The place was very nice and comfortable, warm and the people inside was nice. View all feedback.
This is a very nice place to eat away from the tourists. Prices are excellent (EUR10.00 for a main course) and the managers (husband [English speaking] and his wife are exceptionally helpful and courteous. The meals were also less fattening than many other restaurants in towm
Good quality food at a good price. Informal small restaurant with friendly service. I would recommend it.
Arrived almost as they were shutting up one Friday night but served us lovely pizza and pasta (both vegetarian) with a bottle of house wine €22!!! The decor is rustic and atristic and we went back two evenings later. Just as good the second time. This was the Italy we came to enjoy!
We arrived at this family-run restaurant just as it was opening for the evening. Mom chefs, dad makes the pizzas and oversees the operation, daughter waits tables. The food was well prepared and presented. The homemade pasta with a creamy walnut sauce was divine.
I have been to this restaurant on several occastions for a very simple reason: the food is delicious and you feel very welcome! The restuarant is owned by a couple, where the husband handles the pizzas and the running of the restaurant, while the wife is dedicating herself to the cooking. Home made Italian food of a truly high quality!! The starters antipasti are a must and the pasta is delicious. For instance, you might wish to try their pasta with shrimps, orange and curry..... If it was only for the food, the rating would have been a five star. However, my rating takes into consideration its location and the actual atmosphere of the restaurant and that 's where there are some room for improvements. It is situated in the older part of Brindisi and apart from a small garden room , there is no possibility to sit outside as there is a street straight outside the entrance. The restaurant is nice, very clean and a good atmosphere, but again, not enough to give it a five star rating. However, please don 't let the rather anonymous entrance prevent you from missing out on the delicious plates served here!
