Such a busy, throbbing hive of a place. So much more than just a pub. I need to register on to their website to find out what's going on! I want to return! The pub, the private hire venue, the roof garden, the burlesque dancers, the nightclub and the food! Been here once before for a Sunday roast which was great but tonight has added to that. And what a warm welcome. Chatted with the manager as he cleaned the table w... View all feedback.
What a find this place was!!! After seeing it recommended in gluten free Facebook group, we tried it at short notice after not planning anywhere to eat on a day out. We were both super impressed by the menu and as a pescatarian, wheat intolerant, I was so happy with the number of delicious sounding dishes I could eat! I was spoiled for choice!! They had a good few vegetarian and plant based too. We had crispy fried squid, smoked mackerel and baked goats cheese from the small dishes section. Then fish and chips followed by a GF brownie with delicious raspberry sorbet. We shared all the dishes as neither of us could decide between just two each and we both said it was one of the best meals we'd had and will make sure we return! The whole pub has a really lovely atmosphere too, friendly and helpful staff and a fabulous, traditional pub ambience.
Booked for the Jazz Sunday Lunch, not sure what to expect. We were blown away! It was like disappearing into a secret Jazz club! Sat in our gorgeous booth, we had exceptional service, great food and wine, all accompanied by the most amazing, chilled out jazz. It's definitely an experience, and we will be back again!
Big group of us met up at the Walrus for drinks dinner at the weekend. Service was good, dirty glasses were cleared away quickly there was service with a smile. I ordered the vegan black bean burger it was ok, nice enough but wouldn’t order it again. It had a strange Smokey flavour that I wasnt expecting wasn’t a fan of. Chips were nice though. My partner ordered a pulled pork sandwich was very surprised when it was served on a flat bread with no top (as in sandwich with top bit of bread missing). He said it tasted ok though. All in all the food wasn’t great but it was a nice warm pub with a good atmosphere. Would probably eat elsewhere next time…
We booked a table of 4 with dogs in the bar. It was a sunny Saturday and the pub was busy. We were allocated a great table and had fabulous service from the minute we arrived. There was a great menu and so much was gluten free!!! The choices were brilliant! I was beside myself! The food was utterly delicious! The service was not too fast and not too slow. Despite how busy they were they did not try to rush us either. Massively recommend this place!
The best roast!! Fantastic portion sizes and the staff were all lovely. It is like a labyrinth inside but that adds to the charm. Sticky toffee pudding was light and sweet. It was all incredible, cannot recommend it enough!!
