Contribute FeedbackBrighton’s Indian restaurant offers an experience that is both enchanting and frustrating. Diners appreciate the warm hospitality and excellent service, often highlighting the freshness and quality of the food, especially the biryani dishes. However, the pricing can be steep, leaving some feeling that value is lacking, particularly with surprise charges and unremarkable menu items. While some guests enjoy their meals and plan to return, others express disappointment with bland flavors, questionable ingredients, and delivery mishaps. Ultimately, while the ambiance is inviting, the dining experience remains a polarizing topic among patrons.
My wife and I decided to try this restaurant after seeing it from the window and feeling hungry. The food was decent but nothing special - I have had better meals for a lower cost. It seemed like they used basic Indian wholesale sauces instead of making them from scratch. I was bothered by the added service charge, as I believe the staff should be paid a fair wage. The waitress seemed to be a part of the family that owned the restaurant. I asked for the service charge to be removed and paid in cash, but received my change in small bills and coins, which I found to be a bit childish. If I choose to tip, I prefer to do so with cash rather than having it added to my bill. Overall, I don't plan on returning as there are better and more affordable options out there.
Visited by chance while on the way to a different curry house what a mistake. Ordered chicken wings and a staff chicken curry with a Peshawari naan. Waited 40 minutes for 4 tiny wings with a bit of shredded lettuce and then waited another 30 for my main which I decided to take away due to the place being freezing cold. My staff curry was bland chicken in a watery sauce and the naan resembled nothing like a Peshawari naan with no sign of any of the expected ingredients. They even tried to add a service charge which I found to be insulting due to the poor service. Will definitely not return or recommend this place. The worst curry I have ever had.
This Indian restaurant is wonderful. We have been regulars for many years and have never been disappointed with the food. The service is consistently excellent, very attentive and willing to accommodate any special requests. We highly recommend Nooris - it's no surprise it has been popular for so long. We are puzzled by the negative reviews.
The food at this place is good. Visited to collect takeaway 26 October 23. They use two menus with different prices so please be careful to clarify when you order . Our initial order came to £74 when we checked we had been over charged by £31 . Big shame as the good is good
We had the early bird set menu that ends at 8pm 2 courses £12. The atmosphere and welcome could not be better nothing is too much trouble. Bottle of wine at good price £18. The food was excellent value for money, great quality and fresh ingredients. Located perfectly in the heart of Brighton Lanes, close to the sea and fabulous bars. Have been here many times before with our family and will keep coming back. Thank you!
