What marieke1972 doesn't like about La Vendimia:
Lovely spot in Brighton if you are looking for Spanish food. We had the paella, chorizo, calamaris garlic prawns with bread. Garlic prawns were very delicious; dipping in with the bread. Rest of food was good too. If you order the tapas; no need to order more then 3 dishes as you get lots! View all feedback.
I went to this restaurant with five friends for a quick dinner. I requested a tortilla, but the waiter informed me that they only had two servings left and my table had already ordered them. I asked if they could make a fresh one for me, but he said they only make them in batches of four and they were closing until Tuesday with doubts of selling any more. I had dined there months before without any issues, but this waiter lacked customer service skills. I ultimately left my friends behind after he berated me for not telling him it was okay. All I wanted was a tortilla.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that this restaurant wasn't crowded! My friends and I arrived early for dinner and found that we were almost the only patrons in the restaurant. Despite this, the food was truly excellent. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We started off with some delicious tapas dishes to share, followed by a perfectly cooked paella. I would definitely return to this restaurant when I am in Brighton again. I would give it a perfect five score, but unfortunately, the seats were quite uncomfortable.
My family had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. I would highly recommend it. It's surprising that it was so empty, especially since two other restaurants turned us away because they were full. We initially thought it was a new restaurant or that people typically go for tapas later in the evening, but both assumptions proved to be incorrect.
Had a quiet meal and bottle of wine with a friend here and it as surprised it was practically empty. Had the best Tapas I have ever tasted. The host was charming and informative. I would particularly recommend the Chorizo and the goats cheese in honey.
The choice was from 6 starter and 4 main courses and includes a glass of wine or a beer. We chose a generous portion of lentil and pork stew (starter) risotto and seafood paella for our main. The kitchen closes at 2.30.
