Popped in with friends for afternoon refreshments, the cakes were varied and all great quality. The overall ambience was relaxed and we chilled out for a while. No pressure to leave despite the cafe closing time approaching. View all feedback.
What Crackyyy doesn't like about Dexter's:
I had breakfast with a friend at this restaurant. I ordered toast with a side of poached eggs, which was listed on the menu for £2.90 and £2 extra for the eggs. The girl at the till confirmed my order, but when I went to pay, she charged me £6.85 instead of the £2 I expected. Once again, friendly service, excellent coffee and brunch. Haven’t been for a while but we weren’t disappointed perfect start to a leisurely day in Brighton. Thank you.
When I questioned the price discrepancy, she insisted that I had ordered eggs on toast, even though I had specifically asked for plain toast with eggs on the side. She was rude and unapologetic, and couldn't even show me where the dish was listed on the menu. I paid the full amount but was disappointed by the poor customer service and won't be returning.
Cosy place with really nice clean deco, we have the Dexter’s and the bhuda bowl, perfect portions and fresh food, reasonable priced and lovely staff xox
We went to pick up a surprise treat that we purchased using the Too Good to Go app, but were disappointed to find that we only received 2 doughnuts for £3 with the offer. We were curious about how much they would cost at full price. While waiting, we noticed a fly landing on uncovered cakes at face level, which was unsettling. Once we got home, we discovered that the doughnuts were greasy, dry, and tasteless. When we discreetly showed the fly on the cake to the staff, they took it away without saying anything. We were glad we didn't eat there.
A big thank you to chef and staff of Dexter’s, I had a budda bowl for my lunch incredible flavours, vegetarian and well priced. They also know how to make a proper cappuccino!
