What Peter S likes about Cafe De La Mer:
As the name would suggest this café is located below the seawall on the edge of the beach. We sat outside on a sunny day and enjoyed two glasses of surprisingly good quality wine for a reasonable price. We expected the menu would just be fish and chips but it was more sophisticated and the food looked to be of good quality. View all feedback. What Linda White doesn't like about Cafe De La Mer:
If you are looking for something a bit healthier, certainly the best spot to eat on the promenade. Lost the count how many times I ate their grilled sardines : There is also an a la fresco upstairs area with a better vantage point to enjoy the horizon and the crowd below. View all feedback.

read moreNestled along Brighton's picturesque seafront, Café De La Mer offers a delightful dining experience with stunning ocean views. Guests appreciate the diverse menu, featuring everything from succulent fish and chips to grilled sardines and innovative haloumi burgers. While the seafood shines, some patrons have encountered inconsistencies, particularly with presentation. However, many rave about the friendly and attentive staff, promising an enjoyable atmosphere that enhances the culinary experience. The café's rooftop terrace is a highly anticipated addition, poised to elevate the already charming seaside vibe. With reasonable prices and quality offerings, this hidden gem is worth a visit.
