This cafe resonates a captivating charm paying homage to Marilyn Monroe with a tranquil patio setting at the back with a garden and chickens. Staff were really friendly and helpful, particularly as I needed to charge my phone after travelling on Friday. I was impressed with the expediency my orders were received, especially when I returned on Sunday as it was extremely busy. The Barista gets 10/10 for the delightful... View all feedback.
What Yvonne Ledger doesn't like about A Cafe Etc:
$16 for two coffees a cornflake biscuit. Yikes. Messy tables etc. And it’s one thing to get a coffee not to your liking, but when the cups saucers are grubby too ?? Ick.
Food was quick, good value for money and delicious. Coffee was great. Loved the secret garden.
Always busy so book. Always great food, good prices and lovely place to have a bite to eat or simply have a coffee and a chat. Week with going to.
Dined at this cafe this afternoon. Beautiful cakes. Sat down with my friends and we started eating our snacks and enjoying a pot of tea and the waitress informed us that they would be closing shortly. We were surprised considering we had only just paid and received our food. No one had informed us at the time of ordering or paying that they would be closing shortly. Not long after the manager/owner came out and told us to get out. She insisted we had been told to leave 3 times. We hadn’t. We were stunned at her rude aggressive manner. Upon my friend questioning this manager she said “this is all I need at the end of the day a b like you”. She said you obviously don’t run a business. My friend in fact runs a very successful accountancy business. Wow!! Incredibly gobsmacking and really quite sad her behaviour . We can only hope this lady manager learns to treat customers kindly and decently. That she takes some time to consider how rotten and devalued she can make people feel with this kind of abuse. Beautiful looking cafe but unfortunately cannot recommend it because of the inappropriate abusive customer service.
What a beautiful side-walk Cafe to spend a Sunday morning or any morning or lunchtime in fact. The original art-deco frontage just adds so much character and ambience to the dining experience. People from every walk of life gather here to enjoy great food and coffee in a beachside environment. Sit back amongst the backdrop of a relaxed world passing by. May and all the staff are so friendly and welcoming that you want to return for more of the same. The Hollywood explosion inside contributes to the great and interesting atmosphere, so eating indoors or outdoors is a pleasurable experience. May is so bright and bubbly that you always feel like you are an important customer. I absolutely recommend this gorgeous Cafe to anyone wanting a really great place just to 'be ' and enjoy life. Thank you, Van Moore
Pain nine dollars for a black ice coffee. Was served a regular kids ice coffee with icecream ECT. No refund, rude waitress. No good.
