Very good Thai foodTried the curry and the pad ThaiIt's not the best I had in my life but certainly one of the best I had in the UK.
This is one occasion where I ignored the Yelp community, and took a punt on the Green Mango.
I absolutely adored our meal at The Green MangoWe went earlyish on a Saturday evening for dinner, and it was an excellent choice.
I have ordered food from Deliveroo to have as a takeaway. Great food. Yet to visit the Hove branch as I tend to eat at the Brighton branch but in the new year I will try the Hove branch. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Leaving 3 stars for the food would have been 5 HAD the lady who runs it actually listened to my allergens when taking my order!!! I have long been coming to Chilli (years) and have recommended so many times, even on this occasion bringing my friends who had never been and I pushed them to come here instead of a competitor. The lady who runs this place is of an older dynamic she could not be more rude. No thank you’s or any means of being friendly or polite, she simply doesn’t possess any customer service skills. When taking my order I advised I don’t eat green beans in my Penang curry. The three of us ordered prawn crackers to share which arrived pretty quick, however the rest of the meals was an uncomfortably long wait. It was quiet in the restaurant, no apologies were made to us for waiting so long, she didn’t even offer any crackers as a gesture of goodwill. Almost an hour later we got our meals and mine came full of green beans even though these are what I specified I didn’t want. No apology from her, just attitude. She said she could pick them out?! I advised I was quite capable of doing that myself however I didn’t want to sit there having to do that. When the bill came she even put on a service charge, we obviously didn’t deny paying this but had I been there myself I would have disputed this completely. The food is generally pretty good, but this woman’s attitude is terrible. Had she listened and paid attention, I wouldn’t be writing this. I hasten to add, this is not the first time I’ve had a bad experience with this woman it has happened multiple times that she has been plain rude but now I refuse to give business to someone who charges a significant amount for the food but the service lets them down massively.
