The food is the upper par of your standard Chinese American but with lovely portions. I didn't know the dinner entrees came with chow mein so I got an extra side but I consider that an added bonus for tomorrow's breakfast. The service was a sweet lady who seemed to care about getting our order right. While we where quoted 20 minutes for our takeout it easily was closer to ten. Wonderful place. I'll be back for sure. What Jeff Hayes doesn't like about Hunan Village:
An average Chinese restaurant for Utah. They have lunch specials for $8 and dinner specials (any time) for $11. Dinners have more food with egg roll or shrimp and chow mein as well as the entre, rice and soup or salad. Service is good. The setting is not that appealing. View all feedback.
The food was delivered quickly through DoorDash. We ordered 32 oz drinks along with Kung Pao chicken, Sweet and Sour chicken, Broccoli Beef, large potstickers, and egg rolls, all of which were delicious. However, I wasn't a fan of the egg drop soup as it had too many mushrooms for my taste.
The chicken was dry, and the rice was burnt. Additionally, they forgot my egg rolls when we placed our takeout order. The hot and sour soup was the only thing that was even somewhat enjoyable.
Hot Dog Fried Rice!! If that alone is not enough to explain my low review I will elaborate further below. I got Spicy Crunchy Chicken combination plate: The sauce was inedible. It was overloaded with garlic and salt. I love garlic and I?ve never had it be repulsive. It had zero spicy heat. Noodles were soggy over cooked but had okay flavor. ?Ham? Fried Rice actually tasted okay, until I found larger pieces of ?ham? which were obviously chopped up hot dogs. It wasn?t even close to ham, rounded edges and the exact consistency and flavor of bar-s hot dogs. Soup tasted and smelled burnt, couldn?t get though the first bite. I spit it out and thew it in the trash. I have had many worst Chinese restaurants and this one will forever be the worst of the worst. Unfortunately for those who live in Brigham City it?s the only Chinese restaurant I am aware of. I heard rumors of a Panda Express coming to town, which normally doesn?t illicit joy but for a city with Hunan Village as the only option I think it?s a time for competition.
We stopped here on our way back to Salt Lake and I would never go there again. The soup smelt burnt. So no one we touched it. The rice was bland with absolutely no flavor. Everything tasted old. I left with basically all food untouched. And it cost me 60 bucks. Way overpriced for how disgusting it is!!
