Black Turtle has emerged as a standout coffee shop in Brigantine, offering a cozy atmosphere complemented by in-house roasted coffee. Customers rave about its delicious drinks, friendly staff, and relaxing vibe, making it an ideal spot for coffee enthusiasts and remote workers alike. I loved this place so much when it opened! It was the first city style high quality coffe shop in Brigantine that had the menu and vibe of a place you want to hang out at. And the coffee was delicious. I have a shore house in Brigantine, and I would come here every weekend for the first year they were open. But this summer (2023) has been totally different. One day I was in the shop while the owner was publicly lecturing one of the coffee roasters/managers on how to upsell and squeeze profit out of customers which is gross in general, but additionally very stupid to do in front of customers. I felt conflicted because I loved the ambiance and the coffee, but now hated spending my money there. My last couple of visits put an end to my feeling conflicted because they coffee has gotten so much worse. I have had 2 cups now that were worse than Starbucks! And their coffee used to be AMAZING! So now I don’t even want the coffee, let alone buy it from the owner who is such a schemer. It’s so sad because when they opened, it was my favorite addition to the Brigantine scene. Total bummer.
