PJ Sweeney's - BRICK
PJ Sweeney's
Description
PJ Sweeney's is a restaurant that elicits mixed reactions from its patrons. While some rave about the delicious food and large portion sizes of the main entrees, others express disappointment over the lack of salads that come with the meal and the pricey check at the end of the evening. The lively atmosphere and good service seem to be consistent positives, even if the overall quality can be hit or miss. Despite some being unimpressed with the food, the impressive service and atmosphere seem to make it a popular spot for lunch or dinner among patrons.

Waited over 10 minutes for a server to greet us when first seated. Had to get the hostess attention to let her know we had still not seen a server at the 15 minute mark. Pizza tasted and looked like a frozen pie. The gaelic chicken tasted awful and again, frozen. Pub pretzels were tough and chewy. Not happy with this experience and will not be coming here again.
I wish I had a better experience to share. Perhaps we arrived too late, and the kitchen was starting to close down. Unfortunately, the food wasn't great, and the service was quite slow. It's possible that our timing – coming in late for salads and sandwiches – affected the quality of our meal.
Portions for the appetizers were terrible. We got 10 pretzel nuggets for $9. Then we had boneless wings. We got 9 boneless wings for $13. They were saturated in garlic and Parmesan which was so oily. Wouldn’t recommend
Because this a local and family owned business I've refrained from leaving a bad review in the past. But, as a restaurant owner and chef who works hard to keep my byo restaurant in high demand, I'm finally learning how important reviews are to hold ownership accountable. The food here is practically unbearable. Quite often they are out of stock on many items and they ones they have are frozen and prepared items that reek from freezer burn. The staff here is the only thing that one cannot complain about since they are always friendly, professional and very polite. If you want liquor, it's here, but the kitchen is in terrible need of a real cook. Who forgets to put dressing on an open face Ruben?! Really? With 15 people at the bar at 2pm on a Tuesday?!? Call yourself an Irish pub?
