The food is great and the atmosphere relaxing. Umpas Diner supports our countries military and our veterans which can be seen on the walls inside the diner. I recommend Umpas diner and will return again and again.
This place is fantastic! The staff and owners are incredibly kind and friendly. I definitely recommend this diner above all others in the area. Sam is awesome!
I couldn't be more pleased with the incredibly engaging and friendly service! We adore the patriotic-themed decor and their commitment to honoring veterans and first responders. The chefs prepared our meals fresh to order, and everything was served perfectly. Additionally, the prices are just right—very affordable! I highly recommend this wonderful place for breakfast or lunch. I can't wait for our next visit!
I noticed that the cooks were not wearing gloves, which is acceptable to some extent, but it raised a food safety concern when they touched raw eggs and didn’t wash their hands afterward. I could see everything because the doors were open, and I never saw anyone wash their hands, which is particularly important after handling raw eggs and before touching ready-to-eat food. Additionally, one of the staff members—a blonde lady with glasses—had a bit of an attitude when my girlfriend asked for a different drink because the root beer was too sweet. This was our first visit, and while I appreciate the photos of veterans displayed around and found the prices reasonable, I do have serious concerns regarding food safety.
Went with a friend for breakfast and had the Daily Special #2 which consisted of eggs, bacon, sausage, and blueberry pancakes. The breakfast was as expected. Having just gotten off a Disney cruise, Umpa's blueberry pancakes were much better than what we had on the ship! I love the support this place has for our military and veterans. Prices were very reasonable, too. I would recommend dining here.
