Would highly recommend staying the night and catching the sunrise in the early hours of the morning. Only complaint is the creaky floors.

The accommodation, the staff, the food, th... read more Although it is meant to be a one night stay on your way to backpack further, the place makes you want to stay longer! The accommodation, the staff, the food, the quiet scenery and animals make you want to settle down there and just do day hikes. Honestly, I cannot recommend this place enough in every way. I fell in love with it and hope one day to return.

Si... read more It is the ideal place where to stop for a hearty lunch while hicking: the alpine hut is on Mount Plose and you have a wonderful view of the mountains nearby. Simple cuisine with local products but full of taste. Their merenda tirolese (Tyrolean break) with cold cuts, salami, cheese, bread and pickles is simply great. Friendly staff.

The outdoor area is wonderful with stylish sun shades and fabulous wind protection. We had a private room which was a real luxury. There was only one shower available for the women and as it was free hot water as long as you wanted some people gave up waiting in the queue and washed in the sinks instead. The menu was a la carte and we all enjoyed our meals. There was a well stocked bar and we borrowed a pack of cards for entertainment. Breakfast was excellent, clearly making use of the good supply chain that this refuge enjoys.
