Cafe Am Gries - BRESSANONE

My nose for sweet things hustled me through the pretty centre of town to this quiet little cafe, and as I walked in I was met with a beautiful display of glistening cakes, just the thing to set us up for the morning stroll to Novacella. I waved in the wife and we settled down to a decent hunk of black forest gateau and strawberry cheesecake and two cappuccinos. Prompt cheerful service, delicious food and very clean bathroom. We went out whistling and set off for the Abbey, a perfect start to a lovely day!

Just what we were looking for... A terrace with plenty of shade, tranquility, good and light food, good wine, good service and all for an acceptable price. Well worth dropping in as did the pope if the photos are anything to go by!

All the times we were there was quite and with only a few locals. Exceptional service and acceptable prices.

My husband and I sat down at 13:30, the waiter immediately informed us that the kitchen was closed, there were only toasts. There would be no problem if we hadn't seen a couple of Germans near us and sitting at the same time brought a risotto, and others arrived after a plate of spaghetti. My husband told him to the waiter, and he told us he was carrying out the data orders. After 10 minutes, he told us that if we wanted to, we had risotto instead of toasting. Obviously we did not accept, we ate after 30 minutes our toast, and anyway we will not set foot anymore.

Nice typical environment, friendly staff and helpful. excellent and delicious cakes.
