Fab last minute roast dinner, we booked only 1 hour before we arrived and managed to get a table for 6 and the food was fabulous

We went to the spread Eagle for pre dinner drinks, first time we've been there. We found the staff really friendly and said they had just started doing cocktails again, espresso martini is my drink so we ordered two of them. They was excellent, really well made either with normal vodka or vanilla vodka, best I'd had in a while when out and about, Would highly recommend. We sat in the beer garden which was nice, could do with a speaker out there with a bit of background music. Didn't have food there but the pizzas and burgers looked very tasty

Booked a table for 8.30 on open table website. On arrival at the pub we where told the kitchen closed at 8.30 and could not order food. This despite that on booking the table a sample menu was offered and the pubs own website states food is available until 9.00. The man behind the bar presumably the manager) was unapologetic and didn’t seem to care

My daughter attends a nearby school and has been for the last year, yet this week is the first time I've had the opportunity to visit the Spread Eagle in Brentwood. The first night was just a quick drink with family. It was early on a Monday evening, so the place wasn't busy, yet it still had enough of a buzz and atmosphere about it. I was impressed by the layout, decor, cleanliness and all the staff we interacted with were super friendly, efficient and helpful. Well prepared drinks, fair prices, absolutely no complaints at all.

This is a much improved pub; fashionably redecorated, with great food and regular DJ's or bands. The only downer is getting served; there simply aren't enough staff and given many are making cocktails and regulars take up space sitting at the bar, this means you can wait 15+mins to get served when it is busy. We've given up on numerous occassions and gone to other pubs. The young staff are verging on rude and moody and the owners ought to mystery-shop them just to see how bad they can be towards the people who pay their wages. Put more staff ie some experienced adults behind the bar with a bit of customer rapport and this place would be worthy of 5 stars and customers wouldn't walk out all the time.
