LOVE Mexicali Grill!! We were looking for Good Traditional Mexican and we found Great!! The people are all very welcoming kind, they have festive atmosphere, sports on TV, and the Food is Amazing!!! Also I found several choices that made it easy to make my meal dairy free. (I ordered the Chicken Flauta plate) The desserts are superb. My husband really enjoyed the Sopapilla with Ice Cream. When it comes to Great Mexica... View all feedback.
What Rachel Banyas doesn't like about Mexicali Grill:
Not only did the cook plate this burnt taco salad shell....like turned to dust burnt when you touch it, but the server brought it out like nothing was wrong. We were in a hurry and I did not have time to send it back (I RARELY send food back anywhere). Filling was bland and needed all the salsa just to have flavor. I usually give restaurants two experiences to make a call on coming back, but this was so bad. View all feedback.
On our way to Florida, overnighting in Brentwood. We drove through Nashville thinking we might drive back for BBQ ribs, but too tired to fight the traffic. After checking in to our hotel, we took a walk to explore the area for a dinner restaurant. When we saw the neon lights of the Mexicali Grill, we knew we were in the right place. First up, a tasty pitcher of Margaritas, light and tasty chips and individual bowls of salsa. I was in heaven right then. Our server, knowing we were in no hurry, did not rush us to order. He let us linger over our drinks and chips. When we ordered, we let him know there was no rush and, while this doesn't usually mean anything, ours avowed us to have just the right amount of time before our meals were served. After our meal, we were visited by a very pleasant gentleman who asked us how we enjoyed our visit. I then asked our server if the gentleman we were speaking to was the owner, he said that, indeed, it was. We shared all of the things I just shared here and they were both very appreciative. The service, friendliness, food, ambience...all of it compelled me to write this review. If you're in the area for any reason, I urge you to go...have lunch or dinner...you won't regret it. Now...why don't Mexican restaurants in the USA serve chilaquiles?
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mexicali Grill with my family, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and felt immediately welcomed. The service throughout our meal was impeccable; the staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel like valued guests. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with a variety of appetizers, including fresh guacamole and flavorful nachos. Each dish was prepared with care and authenticity. For the main course, we enjoyed a range of traditional Mexican dishes, from savory tacos to perfectly seasoned enchiladas. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and the portions were generous. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall enjoyment of our meal. It was vibrant yet cozy, making it a perfect spot for a family gathering. We left feeling completely satisfied and eager to return. If you're looking for a place with great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere, Mexicali Grill is a must-visit. Highly recommended! Semper Fi

I've been going here for lunch a few times since company started. Now I will say I go when they first open and not busy so not sure what it's like later in the day or evening. But so far when I get there usually the first one and I have gotten the same server. If you know when you're on a time crunch you want your food at a decent time. I've have ordered guac and the Speedy Gonzales which are simple and enough for lunch so I don't each too much I pass out at work. I'll def come check out the bar maybe happy hour after work to test out drinks. Food comes out hot and plate is hot so nice to have it not cold. Also food flavors have been consistent and not bland. I like the salsa too they make. I ordered starter guac and it was really good as well and seasoned. So far so good and will continue my lunch streak here! Parking: Small area fills up fast. Wheelchair accessibility: All on ground level. Easy to get around from the front door. Spacious areas to the left in the dining area or if you need to park a wheelchair or scooter.
Sat at the bar after a bike ride in Smith Park. We were grubby but we're not turned away. Excellent fish tacos
