I have eaten the bombucha teller, the chicken catsu, teriyaki bark, kalua pork, a pot of mac salat and a pot of rice. I love Hawaiian food and lived on oahu for 8 years and I must say that this is honestly the best, most tasteful of everyone when I ever had. I've blown away how delicious this place is. I'm back to the finals. I want to try everything in your menu now! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Island Hut:
Maybe I just haven't developed a taste for Hawaiian food, but I wasn't blown away. Saimin was pretty much pho with extraordinarily cheap ingredients, but a delicious, smoky broth. Beef teriyaki was on the good side of average. Pork and cabbage was salty but decent. View all feedback.
One of the best places to satisfy my hawaiian cravings! The people are friendly and super cool to talk to while your food is cooking. Fresh, big plates like back home. Mac salad is bomb. And I love their musubis, even though I can make them myself, they just taste better from Island Hut!!Food: 5/5
I rarely give 5 stars, but this place is awesome! Super fresh food! Very friendly staff and excellent customer service. The prices here are super reasonable and the portions are large! First time there we ordered the daily special which was beef teriyaki, Kalua pork, rice, Mac salad and 2 little lumpia's. Also got a musubi. We are not much of beef eaters but the beef teriyaki was great! The Kalua pork was super tender and melted in our mouths! The Mac salad is legit here, good flavor and very authentic! The musubi was pretty good as well. 2nd time we ordered from here (day after 1st visit) ordered the loco moco daily special which came with 2 pieces of spam and the Hawaiian BBQ chicken plate. Best loco moco we have ever eaten! The flavor of the meat on the loco moco was incredible! Wife loved the Hawaiian BBQ chicken, super tender and so much flavor! The little lumpia's are tasty too. Will definitely be back!
It’s a small restaurant. There is no bathroom. The food was okay. I thought it was going to be really good because of its ratings. I’m a foodie so I was more than willing to try since I’m new to the area. The breaded chicken was sitting in lots of grease with no flavor, pull pork was super salty, mac and cheese was liquidy. My stomach hurt after eating it. The only thing that was good was the white rice and bbq grilled chicken. Nothing fancy and I’ll stick with Gyro Star up the street.Parking: It’s a small parking lot shared with many companies
I tried Island Hut for lunch today. There was no free water and only a few store brand drinks to choose from in a cooler. I had ordered and paid before I was told that it was going to be a half hour wait. We were the only customers there, but apparently they had phoned-in orders backed up. I was with a friend, and my food was ready way before his was. I had the pork char siu plate. I actually really like plain rice, but this rice tasted like nothing, and the mac salad was literally the blandest mac salad I've ever had in my life. The reason I gave it three stars despite all this is that the pork itself was just marvelous. It was moist and flavorful with the perfect amount of char. The rice and mac salad come with it, but if I ever go again, I'll just tell them to keep those and just give me the pork.
I got the bombucha plate lunch that included chicken katsu, teriyaki beef, kalua pork, a scoop of mac salad, and a scoop of rice. I love Hawaiian food and lived on Oahu for 8 years and I have to say this is honestly the best, most flavorful of each than I’ve ever had. I’m blown away by how delicious this place is. I’ll definitely be back. I wanna try everything in their menu now!
