At the beginning of the year we spent some nice days in an apartment at the Hanse Comfort Hotel in Bremen. Located next to the hotel is the Greek restaurant El Greco . Since Greek is always super tasty and the restaurant at the hotel was praised we decided to visit one evening. Shortly after the business opening at 6:00 we entered the restaurant.A friendly gentleman greeted us and left us the choice of seats. We chose a nicely covered table on the window. The ambience is actually quite beautiful, the decor seems to be new. As I learned later on the net, the restaurant was taken over by a new tenant in the autumn of last year. To welcome, there was an Ouzo, followed by the cards. We already ordered the drinks, a big beer and a Alsterwasser. Then we studied the maps. I can no longer call you the exact name, in any case we chose a plate. I'm not sure if it was the acropolis or Crete plate... I don't know, it could have been quite different, in retrospect, it's pretty much awkward. In any case, we had both gyros and a spit, and a chop steak, my better half a piece of liver. Pommes and a salad. We ordered Tzaziki separately. The drinks were served quickly and after placing the order, the salad was also quite flotted in front of our nose. This one already disappointed us. There was a...cray salad... think out of the bucket. From other Greek restaurants I always know such mixed greenware with a delicious dressing. He wasn't supposed to be....but he was eaten anyway. The taste was okay. About a quarter of an hour later our plates came. What can I say? ... pure disappointment. The Gyros was totally rough,e.g.T.riesige pieces, extremely dry,it had no taste at all,so it was still covered with tendons and plocks. The spear, he is actually always a little, the emphasis is on a little, dry was super-dry and already almost hardy. Unfortunately, this meat also had no wort. Even my piece of hack was super hard, the same applies to the liver. Here too there was no taste. The highlight of the evening was the Pommes. They were really good and not too salty. Even the Tzaziki, as I mean the sign of a Greek, was nothing. He had neat Knobli, but only the consistency lets me doubt if it was self-made.The taste was nay....In fact, we were quite happy to have ordered this tasteless Tzaziki, so we could at least get the dry meat down a bit. After dinner there was an ouzo.... Overall, it was an absolutely disappointing evening for us. The food was too dry and it simply lacked taste. The Gyros was, unfortunately, the worst thing that was ever served at the Greeks. The one star I have to forgive goes to the staff. The Lord and also the young lady were kind and attentive. We didn't complain. We're not gonna strike up there anymore, and that's what we eat.
