We had a delicious lunch here. Large selection of sandwiches, salads, etc., so that any appetite and diet could be fulfilled. Staff and servers were very nice and attentive, although we left when it was calmer. Nice bar with a lot to choose. Parking at busy times could be a real problem as it is located on a main road in downtown Ithaca. Even in a quiet time when we visited, we had to park on the street, but around the block.
My first visit to Red's with a group of 12. The menu is extensive with cute names for choices. To my sorrow, I selected their version of a cuban sandwich. On the plus side the bread was very good. A large pile of very salty ham dominated along with too much grainy strong mustard. The sliced roast pork was very old and dry. The mushroom cabbage soup as a side was not anything I would recommend. As a fellow diner said, taste like last weeks leftover mushrooms made into a soup. I recognize that sometimes our selection is based on nothing more than the description and our personal experience. I make an awesome Cuban sandwich so I am a critical judge. There is no excuse for old, dry meat. I tasted the tater tots which were awesome, but my recommendation is give the Cuban a pass.
Not far from my lodging, a most pleasant meal after a long day of walking the streets to see the sights. super good burger, good local beers, the way it should be.
