After not visiting the Thomas Paine restaurant for a few months due to my husband being in the hospital, we decided to go today for Sunday lunch. Stopped here after a long drive, we were greeted by the lovely owner who was so accommodating allowing us to have the restaurant menu in the bar as we had our dog with us. This is a family run business and you can see the care and effort they put in. beautiful building and nice comfy sitting area to sit and have a cocktail we tried the espresso martini and the mojitos along with our delicious meal. overall a lovely place to stop and enjoy some fresh cooked food with very friendly hospitality.

Excellent four course dinner for St George's Day. 30+ people catered for, nothing was too much trouble. All the food was made in house from scratch, and it really showed; very tasty soup, superb roast beef with Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings, an amazing sponge for dessert, all followed with cheese and biscuits. A glass of bubbly to start and a glass of port to finish bookended an amazing meal in a relaxed and comfortable setting. Recommended!

Such a wonderful dining experience staff so attentive, food really superb and lovely surroundings. Cannot fault the service and welcome we received and truly some of the best dishes we have had in a long time. Starter of chorizo was a spectacle to behold! Goat curry was exceptional, stunning flavours and perfectly cooked. Lamb shank cooked so well and tasted delicious and to top it off the desserts were top dollar !

The restaurant provides excellent service and serves a delicious roast lunch. I will surely return, as the atmosphere makes you feel like a guest and leaves you feeling like a friend. Their motto is spot on.

We visited the Thomas Paine restaurant to celebrate a birthday whilst on holiday. We were greated by the owner who was lovely and friendly and took an interest in us and where we were from, as well as giving us a brief history on the pub. The waitress was really lovely too and was very attentive to our needs. The owner's wife who is the chef, also came out after the meal to make sure that we were happy with everything. Overall, lovely food and staff and good value for money. Would recommend and visit again if in the area.
