The Railway Tavern - Breckland

Average chips but they will be used for fast service and the type of fish cake I like the tavern much for comfort

From any reason, our short stay host recommends this place for local fish chips in their welcome brochure. we went one night to say they were sold earlier. We tried it again next night and wanted us not to have it. Queued...ages that added to the belief that this place was of exceptional quality! At any rate we received our order of plaice and chips and child meal times from kabeljau and chips. we're home, all hungry. but we were bitterly disappointed. as described in previous reviews, the chips were soggy, boiled and tasteless. the fishbatter was soggy with something sneaky! the children cod bite turned out to make processed fish cake really misleading! I really don't understand why people decide to eat this. either there is no fish

Rubbish flour. stale, recycled overcooked chips with a very thin piece of broken fish. I'll give this place a failure next time!

It is difficult to get decent fishing and chips in these days, so the railway tavern is a real sound. we went today and after a small hiccup with the credit we had (and the owner very fast and professionally sorted) an excellent fish and...Meal everything was hot and the fish was fantastic. would highly recommend.

Very welcoming pub with a great atmosphere relaxed feel, popped in to catch the afternoons football with fish chips to follow, ended up staying for the evening entertainment. Service with a smile
