Contribute FeedbackThe Chase in Thetford presents a varied dining experience characterized by both commendable service and room for improvement. Guests often praise the friendly staff and the decent portion sizes, though some noted a stark reduction compared to other locations. While many enjoy the tasty meals—especially the Sunday roasts and breakfast options—long waits for food and cleanliness issues were common concerns. Drinks were criticized for being overpriced, and certain dishes fell short of expectations. Overall, while The Chase has potential, diners may want to manage their expectations for a consistently delightful meal.
Last week, we visited a Hungry Horse restaurant in Southend, so when we were in Thetford, we decided to dine at The Chase. The portions were decent, but we noticed they were smaller than the ones in Southend. Our main issue was waiting 50 minutes after ordering our starters.
The staff at this restaurant were very friendly, but the drinks were overpriced. I ordered the lasagne with a side salad and added an extra £1.50 for garlic ciabatta. Terrible service , below avg, food toilets disgusting stick to floor .tables not cleared.would not go back for free.long wait for food .which was not worth waiting for
Great pub ! My family and I had breakfast after a wonderful night in the Chase ! We went back for breakfast I had the hangover Mac it was very special! Kids and wife loved the cooked breakfast too ! Looking forward to going back!
Food appallingly bad, seriously, it’s dreadful. Service to match. Excessive waits. Pretty sure this place is breaching the Geneva Convention in terms of what they provide. Give it a miss, find some discarded week-old slop on the road and have that instead, you’ll thank me.
