Our family of 13 met up for pre Christmas Sunday lunch. We were seated in the conservatory which was perfect for us as we had children in the party. The food was excellent and serving staff were very attentive. Also ideal as the children could play in grass area outside. We were so impressed we plan to return next Christmas View all feedback.
What JessM179829 doesn't like about Bedingfield Arms:
A really disappointing lunch here. My Auntie likes it here so she took me, but it wasn't a good visit. The location/setting itself is great. The staff were friendly, but the good stopped there. The food was overcooked (as you can see in the photo, the chips were really overdone). The alcoholic drinks did not match the quality (the white wine particularly was not nice). I barely drank half of the glass. Several hours... View all feedback.
Upon arrival, the restaurant was very quiet and we had to wait for a table while a person at the bar finished a task (this also happened during our last visit). When our roast meal arrived, it looked delicious but was cold. I asked for it to be reheated to avoid wasting it, but it came back with the beef overcooked and curled up at the edges. The room was cold with no heating on, which also happened during our last visit when we were told it was on a timer and the staff could not adjust it. The fire was so smoky that we and other guests had to move to a side room where the music was too loud. We were not allowed in the other room as they were setting up tables for breakfast (even though it was only 6pm). We finished our drinks outside but were asked to return the glasses ourselves. We have been dining here for many years and have never encountered such indifferent waiting staff. Additionally, the prices have now increased to £20 for the roast beef and £8 for a posset sweet.
I had a great experience during my stopover at this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was excellent. The highlight was the delicious breakfast served by Andrew, whose passion for the area was contagious. He provided interesting information about the hotel, restaurant, and other points of interest in the area. I will definitely be coming back again.
The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was delightful. I highly recommend this restaurant. The service was very friendly, relaxed, and professional. I will definitely be returning.
Thank you for another fabulous evening at the Beddingfeld. Our meals were all lovely and the service was excellent. We will be back soon
I recently enertained a group of clients at the Bedingfield. We took all the rooms which and my guests were all very complimentary about the comfort and decor. We enjoyed a fantastic meal in the conservatory and it was a pleasure to be able to order from the full menu rather than having to pre-order or select from a reduced menu which is often the case for groups. The food was escellent and the wine list very reasonable for the quality offered. The team were a pleasure throughout our stay and even came in early to serve breakfast before the usual time as we had to be away. A pleasure also to meet Catkin, fascinating to learn about the history of their ownership and much more! I will definitely use the Bedingfield again next time I am entertaining in the area.
