Delicious food, excellent service, comfortable setting thoroughly recommend. Being dairy free and having the Sunday roast adjusted to accommodate was appreciated. Servings a generous and we left a happy group. Throughly recommended and a must to reserve in advance. View all feedback.
What Tracey L doesn't like about Bedingfeld Arms:
After having many delicious Sunday lunches here this was so disappointing. No side vegetables which usually consist of red cabbage creamed leeks or cauliflower cheese. Veg consisted of one carrot, one parsnip and small portion of green cabbage and peas. No tasty gravy, very bland. No mashed potato either. I was told there was a new chef. I have emailed with my thoughts but no reply. View all feedback.
We had dinner at The Bedingfeld Arms four evenings in a row as we were staying in a cottage nearby. We have visited several times over the last three years. It is a lovely country pub. The food has always been good but it is even better now; apparently there is a new chef. Service is very good when Andrew is there (but it felt slightly disorganised and less relaxed when he wasn’t around). Giving five stars.
Today, I had possibly the best Sunday lunch ever. It was truly first class. I enjoyed roast pork with six different vegetables, roast potatoes, and a huge Yorkshire pudding, all for £18.00. While it wasn't the cheapest option, it was definitely one of the best Sunday lunches I've ever had. Thank you to the team for making our Mother's Day special.
The food was delicious, the restaurant was cozy, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. I would definitely recommend and return! Thank you x
Upon arrival, the restaurant was quiet, but we had to wait for a table while the person at the bar finished a chore (this also happened during our last visit). When our meal (roast) arrived, it looked beautiful but was cold. I requested to have it reheated so it wouldn't go to waste, but it came back with the beef overcooked and curled up at the edges. The room was cold with no heating on, which was also the case during our last visit when we were told it was on a timer and staff could not adjust it. The fire in the fireplace emitted so much smoke that we and others had to move to a side room where the music was too loud. We were not allowed in the other room as they were setting up tables for breakfast (this was around 6pm). We finished our drinks outside but were asked to return the glasses ourselves. Despite having dined here for many years, we have never encountered such indifferent waiting staff. Additionally, the prices are now high at £20 for roast beef and £8 for a posset sweet.
Thank you for another fabulous evening at the Beddingfeld. Our meals were all lovely and the service was excellent. We will be back soon
