Kabuki Japanese Restaurants Brea

Such a terrible experience. our reservation was for 6 people at 3:00 a.m. on vatertag, as I drove there at 2:30, I got a phone call that says there was a mistake and that they did not make any reservations, I said that I received both a text and an email, and I have people who meet me at 3:00 a.m. there, they said sadly, we tried to vater and get the open table for the block. I then asked well how long this is waiting for 6 people, she said 20 30 minutes. I went there, came at 2:40 to enter my name, as my reservation was canceled and the place is empty. there was no waiting time at all. so frustrating. the food was very subpar, asked for my meat to cook well, it came rarely, had to send it back. He was very fat. I asked for brown rice, white rice got no good experience and I won't be back.

This was my first visit to Kabuki in Brea, and I had previously been to another Kabuki in Santa Clarita. I noticed that the menu in Santa Clarita had a lot more Izakaya-style dishes, which I really enjoy due to their Japanese roots. This was one reason I gave a 3-star rating for the food. The other reason was that my experience felt more like I was having Korean food rather than true Japanese cuisine, even though it was a Japanese restaurant. Everything from the rice to the flavor of the sukiyaki, the tempura batter, and even the dipping sauce for the tempura didn’t taste like it had been prepared by a Japanese chef.

I celebrated my friend's birthday, and it was a wonderful experience! Our waitress, Samantha, was very kind, and the food was fantastic.

Our server was amazing! She was beautiful, efficient, and very attentive!

When we arrived they stated that my reservation was not valid because they stopped taking them at 6:20 yet I still received a confirmation. Then I complained and they said ok we will find a table and made me wait over 20 min and that section was empty when we got there so no idea why it took so long to seat us. We were a big group and spent a lot of money and they acted as if they were doing us a favor? Never going back there again
