Kabuki Japanese Restaurants - Brea

Such a terrible experience. Our reservation was for 6 people at 3:00 on Father's Day, as I was driving there at 2:30, I get a phone call stating that there was a mistake and that they weren't taking reservations I said I received both a text and email and I have people meeting me there at 3:00, she said sorry, we tried to block out the Open Table for Father's Day and somehow you got in and got a reservation. I then asked well how long is the wait for 6 people, she said 20 30 minutes. I drove right there, got there at 2:40 to put my name in since my reservation was cancelled and the place is EMPTY. There was no wait at all. So frustrating. The food was very subpar, asked for my meat to be cooked med well, it came out rare, had to send it back. Chicken was very fatty. Asked for brown rice, got white rice just not a good experience and I will not be back.

This was my first time at Kabuki in Brea. I have been to one other Kabuki in Santa Clarita. The menu in Santa Clarita had many more Izakaya items which I enjoy (being of Japanese descent). This was one reason I gave a 3 Star rating under food. The other reason was that I felt I had a Korean food experience not a Japanese food experience (at a Japanese restaurant). From the rice to the flavor of the sukiyaki to the tempura batter and even the tempura dipping sauce, the items did not taste like a Japanese chef had made them.

Celebrated my boyfriends birthday and it was a wonderful experience! Samantha or waitress was very nice and the food was also great.

I then asked well how long this is waiting for 6 people, she said 20 30 minutes. I went there, came at 2:40 to enter my name, as my reservation was canceled and the place is empty. there was no waiting time at all. so frustrating. the food was very subpar, asked for my meat to cook well, it came rarely, had to send it back. He was very fat. I asked for brown rice, white rice got no good experience and I won't be back.
