Contribute FeedbackThe Anchor restaurant in Bray has a mixed reputation among customers. While some are impressed by the food, service, and ambiance, others have been put off by the strict dress code and lack of attention to detail. Despite some negative experiences, there are still loyal customers who appreciate the excellent food and friendly staff at the establishment. Overall, the Anchor seems to be a hit or miss depending on individual experiences and preferences. For those looking for a good meal and friendly service, it might be worth a visit, but others may want to explore other dining options in the area.
Have been in the habit of going to the Anchor once a week, usually on a week night, to eat dinner in the food court and grab a pint. I always go right from work in my work clothes (I’m a carpenter, wearing Snickers work...trousers) . I never gave it a second thought, but last Friday after finishing work later than usual, I arrived to meet my sister for dinner at the anchor and the bouncers stopped me at the entrance, looked me up and down like I’d just crawled out of a sewer, and said they couldn’t allow me into the food court dressed in my work clothes. “Because its Friday night”. I got indignant and said that’s BS they got angry back and reiterated that ‘it’s a Friday” and they’re just doin their jobs. Which I guess is keeping out working people??? Don’t see how anyone eating from a friggin food truck would be offended by the sight of a carpenter drinking a pint next to them. Anyway, I won’t be goin back there again. Uppity BS.
We decided to stop by for lunch on a whim as the other restaurants were becoming crowded. We had a satisfying meal. The service was very welcoming and quick. We would definitely return.
I just paid for two slushies!!! I should have looked at the price before using my card. Lesson learned. This is such a scam!!!!!
The food, ambiance, and service at this restaurant are excellent. It is my preferred spot for a good meal, great music, and a couple of drinks. Luke always takes care of us and ensures we have everything we need. The staff are all friendly and professional. The outdoor seating is well spaced and they have good health and safety measures in place.
The anchor bar is the best in bray for great food drink not to forget the great staff luck is great to talk about anything in the area and have a laugh and looking after customers with smile even with the mask all round...a great place for a good time.
