I always seek out delicious local cuisine, and I have found it at Johnson’s Landing Cafe and Bar in Salton City, California. This rural restaurant and bar offers fresh, homemade dinner specials every night that never disappoint. My go-to dish is their tri tip and chicken plate for only $12 – it's a steal! Their burritos are also a must-try, with fresh ingredients and perfectly rolled tortillas that are a delight to eat. I appreciate that they have supported local schools and continue to be a family-owned business. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, they have remained open and continue to serve amazing food at affordable prices. Don't overlook this hidden gem on K Street – it's worth the visit to support local businesses like this one. Don't miss out on this must-try spot for delicious and affordable eats, whether dining in or taking out. Service: Takeout Meal Type: Lunch Price per person: $1-10

I am giving this restaurant one star because I cannot give it zero stars. I haven't been there in person in a long time, but used to order food for pick up or delivery when I was at work. Recently, my husband and I decided to visit the restaurant for a quick lunch on a day off. When we arrived, it appeared closed, but we asked if they were still open and they confirmed they were. As we looked at the menu, the person working, presumably the owner, mentioned they no longer had certain items. When I acknowledged this, he did not offer any alternatives. It seemed like there was only one person cooking, as he was standing with another gentleman while we looked at the menu before returning to the kitchen. After deciding what we wanted, we stood at the cash register but the person who I assumed was the owner walked to the back, ignoring us. Feeling as though our business was not appreciated, we left and had a pleasant lunch elsewhere where we felt welcomed and valued as customers.
The best Tri Tip in Imperial Valley can be found at this restaurant. Their catering service is top-notch. They have been in business for over 12 years.
