I hadn’t even finished my meal, as I wanted to order dessert to take home. To top it off, the hostess grabbed my purse and handed it to one of my friends to move because she was seating another guest nearby. I would have preferred if she hadn’t touched my belongings and simply asked me to move it myself. When we tried to share our concerns with our server, she denied everything and made us feel like we were imagining it. I have never experienced such poor treatment in a restaurant or felt so unwelcome. All I wanted was to enjoy a nice time with my friends. We will definitely not be returning.

To start, we had the artisa... read more We opted for a three-course meal paired with a bottle of eco-friendly wine (see pictures). It was outstanding from beginning to end! To start, we had the artisanal vegan cheese plate from their special Valentine's menu, featuring three cheeses infused with sun-dried tomato, beet horseradish dill, and pesto. This beautiful platter was accompanied by an assortment of bread and fruits. It was not only delicious but also a feast for the eyes! I chose the tofu and portobello mushroom Wellington, and I was pleasantly surprised by how filling and flavorful it was! It stood out on its own without trying to mimic a traditional beef Wellington—definitely a 10 out of 10! My partner tried the Mayan Sun enchilada and described it as magnificent. As a huge fan of carrot cake, I had to sample their vegan version. It was soft, perfectly textured, sweet, and bursting with flavor! Garnished with mint leaves and sliced apples, it brought a refreshing touch to the dessert. It might even give my favorite carrot cake from Edge of the Woods in New Haven a run for its money! My partner also enjoyed the decadent chocolate lava cake, which was simply scrumptious. You don’t have to be vegan or vegetarian to appreciate what G-Zen has to offer—I promise you won’t be disappointed! Cheers!
