One diner was unimpressed by the veal sandwich, criticizing the thin, tough meat and lack of sauce, while another found the food lacking in flavor overall. Some customers felt the prices were too high for the quality of food, mentioning small portions and overcharging for drinks. However, others had positive experiences, praising the authentic taste of the dishes, particularly the wood-fired pizzas. Despite the differing opinions, many agreed that the atmosphere and service were enjoyable, making it a potentially worthwhile visit for fans of Italian cuisine.
Worst Italian food and overpriced. Veal was paper thin and tough. 28 for a meal where the portions were that of a tv dinner. Bread was hard and stale. Staff rude. You pay extra for everything. Want a really good sandwich go to California at least you get your money worth and it's never disappointing.
When it first opened and for awhile the food was fantastic, exactly like I eat when I'm in Italy. But as time goes by, the food has no flavour. We were there just this past Friday night and I ordered a pizza and it was horrible. It was very watery and the cheese tasted as if it were washed out, NO FLAVOUR at all. The pasta, also has not much flavour. I know many of you think this is real Italian food, no it's not. Sorry!!!! I know for sure my husband and I will not return to this restaurant to eat anytime soon or ever.
$25 for a veal with peppers and mushrooms. Meat is super thin now, and tough. Hardly any sauce on my sandwich, dry as a bone. Peppers look and taste like they came out of a jar (can taste the brine). Your cost cutting measures are resulting in poor quality, and you're not fooling anyone! All this while you have the audacity to overcharge for a sandwich that i can get in Mississauga at Diana's Pasticceria (tomken and eglinton) for $12! I'll drive the extra 10 min from Brampton to get a veal prepared the traditional way, you know, where the meat breaks off easily with each bite. Melts in your mouth, yeah that way. I was so disappointed, have eaten at That italian place many times, prices were always a bit higher than average, but now its just insane gouging! Only drink options are shishy foo foo bottled pop for $4 and $5 each, can't even get a can of coke! For the 3 of us, lunch cost $92!!! Ridiculous! I also called to place our order prior to arrival as it was lunch time and we all needed to return to different work places and obligations, only to get bitched at from la biondina at the counter that I'm not supposed to call ahead if we plan to eat inside. Are you kidding me? Nope, won't return, not after this last experience, it left a horrible and unsatisfied taste in my mouth!
I ordered a meal for 4 people using skip the dishes. The food for one person arrived. The order was missing the majority of the food. I reached out to skip the dishes and was told that the restaurant forgot to make the majority of the food. Skip the dishes offered a credit to reorder immediately or my money back. I chose the credit. I immediately attempted to order again and was told that they closed at 7:00 pm on a saturday night. I will never do business with this restaurant again and would say that this is one of the worst experiences that I have had with a restaurant.
I ordered takeout last night and had the wood fire pizza...they make the best pizza in my opinion...after eating the 11 inch I was full but not overbloated like eating the regular pizza places...and my wife who is picky really enjoyed their pizza...very generous of toppings on the 11 inch but we ordered the 18 inch last time and the toppings were not so much...still good though...we will go back again and often and grabbing the 11 inch wood oven pizzas for ourselves
