I visited this restaurant on an early Friday evening and it was still fairly empty around 6:30pm. There was a TV, but it was not playing any sound. The food was from Almight Bao. View all feedback.
I have been driving past this spot for some time now. It is attached to the end of a Portuguese meat market in the middle of nowhere. The area is being developed with high end houses so this looks a bit out of place.I said attached to the meat market but when I stopped I found it was underneath. Entry is down some uneven stairs and through a side door. As the name says there is a patio but November in Canada is not patio weather. Inside is difficult to describe. My cell phone was in the car so no pictures. There were only a few tables in a very large area but the bar and the side walls were lined with milk can bar stools. Search it on Google and you will see what I mean. One wall was lined with wine bottles. Not sure if that was there storage or just a display of empty bottles. It was Tuesday evening at 7:30. Not another car in the parking lot and when I entered I thought the place was deserted. Then I spotted the owner in a corner behind the bar. She confirmed they were open so I sat down and looked at the very limited menu. Limited but I don’t need a huge choice in a ‘sports’ bar.I ordered steak on a bun and the owner/server/chef disappeared into the kitchen. My meal came, simply presented on a plate with a half dozen very nice black olives. The Portuguese bun was fresh and tasty and the thin steak was fine for what I wanted. Good selection of beer, a Stella rounded out my meal.I am not sure how to rate this so I said average. I suspect it would be an interesting joint with more people and the band that is sometimes there on Friday. As it was, I was the only person there and I was in and out in 25 minutes.
The food at this restaurant is no longer from Luther's Fried Chicken, they now serve delicious bao buns instead.

I recently discovered The Almighty Bao and read some positive reviews about it.
