I have never come across a restaurant with such affordable prices! The quality of the food is also excellent. I highly recommend trying their veggie burger on a fresh sesame bun. Their cream-filled cakes are always amazing, but I do wish they would start baking cookies again. Overall, this place is definitely worth a visit. View all feedback.
What Raf Brampton doesn't like about Bombay Bakers:
The restaurant operates in a peculiar manner. For example, if you place an order and are told it will be ready in 15 minutes, they will call without leaving a message from an unknown/private number. They seem to shift blame onto the customer as if they are in a small village in India. Despite this, they have good pastries. The staff should work on their manners and take responsibility for customer service. They shoul... View all feedback.
This place has the cheapest prices for the best quality of food. Everything is super fresh and delicious. Love every single item on the menu. Never knew for just $20 you can eat soooo much !!
Disgusting.... the sardarni lady who happens to be thier chef is so rude and harsh and misbehaving.... we ordered a dahi batata puri, the place was crowded that day and she just stuffed plain bland dahi in a puri and topped with sev and gave it to us.. we went to the reception humbly asking for green and red chutney and tyat batata means potato so told her to put onions and potatoes and we will manage.... to which the mannerless lady replied " khaana hai toh khaao namak milegaa bas" illiterate totally....we gave the entire meal which included a Bombay sandwich and they kep the money too..... hope they repay for this lady..... don't waste ur time to get insulted.... :( the place was all smelly and the tables sticky too
OverallBombay Bakers has an excellent assortment of vegan sandwiches, savories and sweets, highlighted by the use of freshly sourced vegetables, chick peas, dahl (lentils) and indian spices, and the use of real cream in their desserts. This place is organized to take your order, and then have you sit while it is being prepared. Some people order, and then stand to wait for their order to be prepared. And sometimes they wait quite a while, because the food is so good. The Veggie BurgerThe Veggie Burger comes with two spreads, a homemade cilantro sauce and homemade hot sauce, with generous helpings of onion, lettuce and tomato, and a deliciously made-to-order spiced veggie patty consisting of a potato or lentil base or both (we're not sure yet...).The Bombay SandwichThe Bombay sandwich is also delicious, stacked with cucumbers, and wonderfully spiced with melted cheese. DosasDosa's are exactly what you would expect to find in any larger scale restaurant except they are much cheaper here at just six dollars. It comes with a larger sized crepe, potato and spices, sambar (a type of indian spiced soup-gravy), tamarind, and coconut chutneys- depending on the preparation. I ordered the Mysore Masala Dosa on one occasion. The Chaat dishes are authentically prepared, and all the spices come together perfectly for this savoury-sweet balanced dish. We tried the Pani Puri and the Dahi Batata Puri on another ocassion. Imagine crunchy balls of dark sweetness wrapped in sweet and sour white cream- you just can't make this stuff up!AtmosphereThe seating is ok, but its gets cramped quickly during busy times of day. The line up out of the door also shows just how much ex patriot Indians and their families enjoy this food! Always show up to order, and then wait in your car if its too busy. They will let you know if the order will take a while, but its worth the wait. One time they told me about 35 minutes, and it really did take about 35 minutes, but there was exactly what I wanted. Every sandwich is hand made and fresh to order!Desserts and TeaI've also tried their cookies and cake desserts, and Chai tea. The tea was made perfectly and thick. One exception to pure vegan is that they use real cream and milk here. The chocolate bombs were good, and the cookies straightforward quality. My only critical comment is that the mango flavour sauce for the cake left me wanting more. The Pistachio cake is quite good, but again the cream, which could also be a bit sweeter, dominates the cake.ConclusionIt is great value for prepared vegetarian food because its quality fresh food made to order at a price cheaper than most competitors. The service is very polite and ready to serve. Bombay Bakers is usually busy during peak times with line-ups outside the door on holidays and weekends. Their food is that good- especially for vegans and indo-vegetarians. BB's get busy so if your in a rush, go at non-peak times. If you stay too long, because its busier, you may smell like the food. There is just enough space for a few families to eat and its busy, so this place is best for quieter times of day, and for take out.
This place is worth a visit if you are craving for some good delicious Indian street side food for a reasonable price. This place serves only vegeterian dishes and their bakery products are mostly eggless.Almost all dishes are below 5$.
I went to Bombay Bakers to try their chaat papri and I have to say I was very impressed with the food.
