Menu
A comprehensive menu of The Pheasant Inn from Braintree featuring all 60 meals and drinks can be found here on the menu.
The Pheasant has been serving top-quality food since 1964, long before the term gastro pub was coined. Located 12 miles west of Huntingdon in a charming farming village, this beautiful thatched inn offers a traditional atmosphere with oak beams, open fires, and simple wooden furniture in the spacious bar. Additionally, the airy Garden Room at the rear opens up to a stylish patio garden. Under the ownership of the Hoskins family until 2007 and currently led by Chef Patron Simon Cadge, The Pheasant promises great food, a warm welcome, real ales, an award-winning wine list, log fires, and even a herb garden. It is everything one would expect from a classic country inn. Winner of the 'Cambridgeshire Dining Pub of the Year 2016' by the Good Pub Guide.

Feedback
Nestled on the border of Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire, The Pheasant offers an inviting atmosphere combined with a diverse menu featuring both classic pub fare and contemporary dishes. Diners have praised its beautiful decor and warm, attentive service, creating a cozy environment perfect for any occasion. While many enjoyed generous portions and standout dishes like the turkey pie and artisanal appetizers, a few experiences highlighted inconsistent quality in mains and desserts. Overall, The Pheasant is cherished for its welcoming vibe, delectable food, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, making it a must-visit destination.
Beautiful meal, friendly staff, great wine list, open fire fabulous catch up with friends
Great Sunday dinner. all had the faint that was tender and tasty. perfectly cooked vegetables. I'm always hesitant to roast away from home, but that's the best I can remember. it is not the cheapest, but they pay for quality. hopefully, the new owners and the team are able to get it a success as plan.
Amazing eating. had the black pudding and stabbed eierstarter. roast sirloin pornstar and rhubarb, ingwer and hazelnut crumble for dessert. all on all 3 of my plates was delicious, already this place was recommended to my colleagues!
Great food, good beer and wine. Watch out for the starter portion sizes which are generous which left no real room for dessert. Though we shared a couple between us anyway as they sounded, and tasted, great too!
We hadn't been out to The Pheasant for a couple of years but pleased to say we weren't disappointed and it was as good as ever. Great food, great service, and lovely surroundings both inside and outside. A great way to spend our Wedding Anniversary.
