A bit on the cold side, and a strange smell of drains.Friendly barman who could not help the poor quality of the food. Huge wedges of chips, overcooked on the outside but obviously parboiled and reheated. Panfried chicken dish in a tasteless brown gravy. My fish was fine.The price of one dish was knocked off, but that's not the point. We remember it when it first reopened a couple of years ago. The menu and cooking was then quite excellent. Also in the 10 years before that, with an excellent chef, Roger.

Good selection of pub grub, all home made at really reasonable prices. The homemade burger was delicious. Service is always friendly. We feel lucky to have such a good family pub so close to home.
