Wow! Excellent food, good service! Thanks Francesco. This was a pure delight. Come early because they run out but my second choice was superb! Had grilled steak and my wife the ham. Just oh so good!

I went to Trota 's for dinner with some local friends from Braga (I 'm from a different city). I did not knew this restaurante before, or even heard about it and now I have questions for my Braga friends, namely why didn 't you tell me about this before, why were you keeping it a secret? Don 't you like me? this is why I tend to have trust issues folks... Enough with the tomfoolery. Service is very nice and helpful and quick to attend the customers. And always with a sincere smile! We did not order starters but did eat the (good) bread that was already available on the table. The dishes ordered were Posta Maronesa which came with potatos a murro and sauteed vegetables and Polvo (octopus) fillets with red bean and collard greens rice (a kind of risotto , for those who are not familiar with Portuguese cuisine). The meat was super tender and succulent, medium rare (by default), The Polvo was amazing, as was the rice. One important thing: nothing was too salty! These dishes can cooked be a bit too salty in many places but this was not the case. They were perfectly seasoned. Deserts were, on the other hand, regular. Good, but plain. I intend to go back and order the Francesinha which was looking very appetizing (I come from the city that birth this sandwich , Porto, so trust me, they look and smell very ggod).

Went here one night. Appears popular with locals. Hearty traditional food which was tasty, well prepared, and fairly priced. (I had dark pork and rice wife had the veal) very friendly service. Good place.

Trota's is all about traditional northern Portugal's cuisine. The restaurant is not big, but there's always a table. Excellent selection of wine and also traditional beers. Very friendly staff. Excellent relation cost/benefit. Not expensive. Try everything.
