Lobattos - Braga

I'll be writing another review (Nordico) which is just the opposite of this. I looked at this little restaurant and I loved the design from the outside and the inside wasn't that bad either. It has such potential. Even the food was actually quite good, especially considering the price! €5 for the menu of the day, which included bread, a drink, starter, main course and coffee! However, what let it down, and for me it's a primordial aspect of a restaurant, was its toilet. Firstly, someone left his mark in the toilet; ok, this might not be the restaurant's fault but there was no tap! I mean there was one, but the top half was gone, meaning there was no way you could get water out of it! Without washing my hands, I dared not touch my bread. The soup was rather tasty. The main dish well, I didn't know what to expect because I couldn't understand what the waiter was explaining about the cod. In the end, the cod I opted for was 4 cod fritters, accompanied with rice and a cold bean onion salad. The latter I didn't care much for as I don't like raw onions, nor cold beans, for that matter. The flavour, however, was quite pleasant. Even the cod was good, in contrast to what I was going to have for the evening! Little did I know. Watch out for my review on Pata Negra. So, it was a shame indeed. 2 stars because of the toilet. Hopefully, it was a temporary problem and that they would have it fixed soon!

Ótimo restaurante, com ambiente super acolhedor, boa comida e atendimento fantástico. As diárias são sempre maravilhosas! Update: voltei depois de quase 4 anos. Continua mesmo 5 estrelas! Que lugar fantástico!

Good food to a very low price. Friendly staff. No english menu, but with a little help from google, the chef explained it all
