Yesterday (Saturday) on the way to our emmerdale studio tour, allowed us the landdame to have taken our photo behind the bar, kindly gave us a few when souvenir berries. So today came back on the way home for a bit of lunch. I had the best truthahn, stuff cranberry sandwich O/H had bark sticky wobble sandwich, both served with the best lumpiest chips ever lubricated! they were more like roasting. the cordial kind greeting we received from the renter was fabulous, as well as the entire staff. we wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the excellent hospitality, but the snow began to come fat fast we had a long trip to home.
Went for an early surprise 60th birthday lunch and from the moment you entered the pub we were greeted with such warm hospitality from all members of staff, James the proprietor came over and chatted to us more than once making us feel like old friends even though we had never met! Dave who was volunteering that day straight away was very welcoming and served our food which was scrumptious with a friendly smile and again made you feel relaxed. Thank you for making my 60th surprise lunch feel so special xx
Lovely small village where emmerdale was originally filmed for 22yrs in Esholt. Filming stopped in 1997. Had a larger shandy in Woolpack and walked around this beautiful village. The first scenes of the village appeared in 26thJanuary 1976, episode 291.
Was fab! Recommend a visit, inside on the walls there are lots of photos of most of the characters of Emmerdale. There is the post office which also sells memorabilia of Emmerdale Farm as it was named in the first place.
