I am a BIG fan of Nando's Peri Peri Chicken., so was intrigued when I discovered O Poleiro on a business trip to Bradford. The staff person (I believe it was the owner) was efficient, informative and entertaining. The meal (chicken, with rice potatoes) was exceptional (better than Nando's). I will be back!. BTW, I ate in, but with room for 5+, it's better to do take-ou. View all feedback.
What Warnerdang doesn't like about O Poleiro Bbq:
When we moved to Braford everyone said to try this place out that it would be amazing. The restaurant is a dump, it seems most of their business is take-away, but you should still take pride in your space. The food was lackluster and not what I'd expect from Portuguese chicken, or any chicken place. Sides were also a disappointment and didn't seem to fresh. Only decent caveat: cook was a nice guy. Great chicken, been a regular customer for years. They have an awesome hot table, as well as family chicken meals. Recently, the place has been expanded from a take out, to a sit down restaurant as well. Great food, even better service. Best chicken place in Bradford, bar none!
I've tried this place 3 times and this was my LAST. There is always potatoes that are not cooked through and way too much lemon on the rice (not usual in Portuguese rice). I am Portuguese originally from Toronto and this place doesn't compare to a 2 star downtown. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Small take out business with an area for sitting in with food. Excellent chicken, love the sauces. Fries are homemade. You can also get rice and potatoes. I like the fries best.
Good food .Great value . This place is great . A family run business that caters to families on the go . The family special is ideal for four . The chicken and fries are served in abundance . I love the roasted potatos and the rice too . Walk ins can be left waiting due to the popularity of the place ( weekends /dinner time evenings ) We locals know to call ahead . There are a number of chicken options in Bradford . Make this place your first choice for you and your family .
If you read my reviews you will see I rarely give fives. This is a must stop for great quality food and incredible value. We split a chicken dinner with a salad and the owner brought us a plate of Piri piri fries and also some other plates at no charge. He treated us like we were guests at his house. I have seen few owners provide this level of service!Be sure to stop in.
