The Golden Retriever - Bracknell Forest

Me and my partner usually come here for dinner and the food is lovely, they recently renovated and added more items to the menu. We are usually served by Sharon who is amazing! She always checks if we need more drinks or if there is anything else she can help us with :

A really lovely building and the food was pleasant but the service was poor. We ordered drinks and were waiting quite a while for them to be delivered when a waiter said he would take our food order while we were waiting. We had already been told by a waitress, on arrival, that two of the dishes were unavailable....that was fine. My husband ordered the pan fried lamb and I ordered sea bass. A couple of minutes later the waiter returned, shoved the menu back in front of my husband and said, What 's your second choice? My husband looked confused and was told there was no lamb either no apology and no other explanation initially. When we finished eating, the same waiter asked if we wanted coffee or tea in the same brusque manner no puddings offered or any other enquiry into whether we had enjoyed the main course. I would not recommend The Golden Retriever if you are hoping for relaxed, friendly service what a shame.

Brilliant food as always and great service from Hannah. Really good range of options and huge portion sizes.
