Feedback
Nestled in a charming diner setting adorned with Elvis memorabilia, Jukebox Cafe offers a unique breakfast experience. While many patrons appreciate the friendly staff and a variety of menu options—including vegan selections—recent feedback indicates a decline in food quality and consistency, particularly regarding temperature and freshness. Signature dishes like Eggs Benedict have received criticism for overcooking and odd flavors, while coffee has been described as weak. Despite these setbacks, some customers still rave about the fantastic atmosphere and nostalgic vibe, making it a spot worth visiting for a classic breakfast, though expectations may vary.
The staff was very friendly. However, it did take awhile to get our food. The basic sunny side up eggs were average, but everything else was sub par. The scrapple was thin. Their coffee was weak. The side potatoes looked and tasted like cold mush. The eggs Benedict was so bad no one could take a second bite and the avocado on it was brown. Their French toast would havebeen decent, but it came cold. There was about 5 tables at the time so it was not crazy busy.
Love this place! Fun old style diner atmosphere with Elvis posters, etc. Great food! The only place around I know of to get country fried steak (topped with chopped beef gravy! Excellent variety on the menu. I will get pics next time I'm there, forgotlast time. Gotta check them out!
Standard breakfast and lunch fare at a good price. The food is made fresh in the restaurant and ingredients often come from local farms. Their home made soups are comforting. The staff is incredibly warm, friendly, and patient about answering questions. It gets very crowded and loud. While it can't be helped, I have to be in the mood for that vibe. If you read my other diner reviews, you know I have a thing for HOT coffee. It was freshly brewed, but too tepid for me. My friend thought it was perfect, and she enjoyed a delicious fruit smoothie as well. I'd like to go back during the week for lunch. Definitely worth a visit.
Seriously? I hope people are paying attention to the RECENT reviews instead of just the overall average or what Google highlights as most relevant. This place has gone so far downhill it’s heartbreaking. I USED to love it—it's been a family favorite for the 23 years we've lived in the area. But now, like so many others have said lately, the food arrives cold or barely warm after a long wait. The long wait is clearly the kitchen’s fault, and the cold food falls on the waitstaff. The coffee has always been weak, like drinking brown water, but the food used to make up for it. Not anymore. Save your money! Don’t think this is just a rare issue—it’s happened to us three times in two weeks. The good old days are gone. The food is not only cold and stale, but it’s also lost the taste it once had. Sausages used to be hot and juicy, bursting when you bit into them. Now they’re dry and cold. The veggie Benny I’ve ordered for 20 years tastes off—I'm pretty sure the cook isn’t draining the jarred chopped garlic properly, making the English muffin soggy and giving the dish a sour flavor. The avocado on the California Benny was unripe and inedible in several spots even though the outside was brown. The “poached” eggs supposed to top a Benedict were solid in the center, like a warm hard-boiled egg, not runny as they should be. Overall, very low quality. Truly disappointing.
I have to say, Jukebox Cafe looked really cute and had a great theme, so I was excited to eat there. The place was packed, and we waited about 10 minutes outside to be seated, then another 45 minutes to receive our food. When the food finally arrived, it looked appealing but was cold. The taste was bland overall; the home fries resembled boiled potatoes with seasoning and had a celery-like flavor, while the toast wasn’t toasted at all.
