Last night I went to the Cup Cutter (which is in such a beautiful setting) and enjoyed one of the most delicious meals I have ever had. It was a "Prime Rib Night" - and the plates held a generous portion of sliced prime rib roast, two Yorkshire puddings, mashed potatoes and vegetables that were done perfectly. I am not much of a meat eater, but I was with three men who were. When this huge portion of beef was placed... View all feedback.
This restaurant is a fantastic addition to Bowen Golf Course. They offer delicious sandwiches and affordable specials for both lunch and dinner. The Sunday Brunch is also awesome!
Based on these stellar reviews, we tried to take my son for his 2nd birthday dinner. We drove over 4kms from the nearest main road winding up & down until we thought we were lost. Go in, they have no highchairs, no boosters. Starving, we thought we'd try since there was not a soul in there. No one would be bothered by a toddler. The menu was a lunch menu. Really no dinner entrees being served at all. Burgers & fries it is I guess. How disappointing after looking forward to roast beef, etc. Pretty easy to do burgers/fries no? My fries were burnt. Awful. We sat outside, wasps were swarming, we moved back in. My son was impossible to keep in an adult chair so I explained that & asked if we could get the meals to go. The "chef" said he had duck tape. The owner brought out 2 containers for me to pack. Ugh, never going back!
The Cup Cutter, located at the Bowen Island Golf Course is a great little restaurant. A wonderful menu ranging from THE BELCH (an egg, bacon etc meal) to a wonderful smoked meat sandwich. The "shared plate' of prawns at $12 was a huge surpirse... 15 prawns! A full meal! I haven't had anything that i would not recommend!

It was a "Prime Rib Night" - and the plates held a generous portion of sliced prime rib roast, two Yorkshire puddings, mashed potatoes and vegetables that were done perfectly. I am not much of a meat eater, but I was with three men who were. When this huge portion of beef was placed before me, I felt mildly alarmed and wondered why I ordered it .....and then I started eating it. OMG! It was delicious; especially with the sharp horse radish sauce provided in a side dish. One of the others said it was one of the best meals he had ever had. I agree. If you are on Bowen, and hear about another Prime Rib night at the Cup Cutter - don't miss it!!
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. Sitting on the sun deck, watching the golfers on the first tee and the 9th, I received excellent service from Joy. Chef Mario prepared an incredible variety of food, from assorted muffins and baked goods to salads, hot dishes, and freshly made omelettes. The highlight was the mouthwatering dessert table with bread pudding cups, fruit, Cinnamon buns, berry pie, lemon custard, and more. The price of $18.00 ($15 for over 60's) was a steal for such a fantastic meal. I can't wait to come back next Sunday!
