Pause Cat Cafe offers a cozy and relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff and adorable cats. While some patrons found the service a bit lacking and the food and drinks subpar, others appreciated the vegan options and the overall concept of the cafe. The presence of volunteer employees and the condition of the rooms and toilets were noted as areas in need of improvement. What Laura Lopez dislikes about Pause Cat Café:
Possibly the weirdest experience i’ve had. A non verbal volunteer woman served us who just stared and made us feel very uncomfortable. The chocolate milkshake i had was made with soya milk for some reason and had separated and congealed before i even had chance to try it. Tasted absolutely vile. The cats look depressed and underfed and were ushered away by the lady who didn’t speak. Would not recommend pricy and poin... View all feedback.

Amazing new owners! Oh my gosh, I tell you. They have the best ham and cheese toastie I think I have ever had in my life. Amazing bread! I was shocked when I bit into it, how good it was and said a bad word it was sooooo good coming back asap!
Full breakfast was really big. Eggs done just how we asked. Gluten free options available. Great coffee.

Cute cats and plenty of toys! If you 're there to see the cats, you 'll have a good time! They 're adorable and some are raring for a gentle scratch. The young ones tend to be racing along of the floor and some might play too. The food was nice, and come in little boxes to keep safe from the cats but none seemed too interested in them. Unfortunately the 'frozen strawberry ' drink was completely room temperature which was disappointing on a hot summer day. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Lovely place. The cats seem very cared for they are all rescue cats. The staff were super friendly doing a fantastic job. My friend loved the veggie burger
This is a wonderful idea provides a lovely calming environment for people to relax interact with cats. The cats are all rescues are cared for with lots of love respect by their owners. We only had time to enjoy a cold drink on this visit. The banana milkshake was really nice as per my stepson I enjoyed a 7up. This is a wonderful space for people to escape the crazy world all its pressures. It's definitely a wellbeing holistic environment for all who visit. This is a charity based business, so all proceeds go to providing this special place the welfare of the cat residents. Donations are welcomed. It is a lovely place to introduce children of all ages to cats how to be respectful gentle with them. I think it would be a lovely place for everyone to visit. We plan to visit again very soon. Thank you for the work you do with these wonderful cats.
My boyfriend and I both went and we left rather disappointed. We understood that because of the Cat 's backgrounds we couldn 't approach them so we waited but the limited cats there were outside of their bedrooms were too busy fighting each other or hiding from customers. Our server had the quietest voice ever and it was incredibly difficult to understand most of what she had said, on top of that had a chalkboard to note down our order and still had to come over to ask us a couple of times what we ordered. Overall I was quite disappointed with my experience and found the whole place rather unprofessional given that there were more volunteer employees than real ones.

While the food may not amaze you, the menu options are quite extensive and the prices are reasonable. It's charming that the restaurant is staffed by volunteers and provides employment opportunities for people with disabilities. The real highlight, however, are the cats who are clever at trying to steal your food. Thankfully, the food comes in large boxes so you can easily cover it back up. I would definitely revisit this place.
This restaurant is not your average cafe, as it is mainly operated by volunteers, which is evident in the simple fare they offer. The vegan mac and cheese I ordered seemed to be microwaved, and my partner's sandwich was very basic (just bread, avocado, and lettuce). Despite the food, the restaurant itself is great; their website provides all the necessary information about the restaurant and allows you to reserve specific tables. It is clear that a lot of thought went into this cafe, so I highly recommend paying a visit, especially since it supports a good cause. However, be cautious if you have allergies to cats or mites.

The restaurant offers a wonderful experience with friendly staff and adorable cats. The food and drinks are delicious, and the venue is very clean despite having many cats. The indoor area is cute with plenty of space for the cats to play, even at higher levels. It is clear that the rescue cats are loved and well cared for. The entry fee goes towards helping with vet fees and food for the cats, which is greatly appreciated. This is a perfect place to visit in any weather, and I look forward to bringing more friends in the future. Thank you, Pause, for a great experience.
Lovely place for a drink and some company! The cats are lovely, friendly, and careful with Michelle (white), she'll try to get into your food! Good menu as well and lovely stuff.
A gorgeous place to visit with lovely staff and even lovelier cats. Completely accessible to disabled customers and an inclusive, kind, loving atmosphere. The staff all care for the cats so much and their comfort comes first. The vegan food and drinks are all scrumptious. I have visited this café three times now and it has become a favourite spot.
Lovely little cat cafe over 2 floors in the centre of Bournemouth. We had 2 drinks and 2 snacks for £11 and an hour with the cats. 11 is probably not recommended as the cats have recently been fed so many are having their brunch nap. It was still nice to see them and have some pets

Although food you cannot blow away, the options are actually quite extensive and the prices are totally acceptable. I find it really nice that the place is run by volunteers and also offers people with disabilities a place to work. Of course, the cats are the highlight and they are very intelligent when it comes to getting to your food. Luckily, it comes in large boxes so that you open the lid again, only in case. I will definitely come back
This place is not an ordinary café, as it is usually run by volunteers, and you notice it in the very simple food they serve. The Mac and the Cheese (vegan) that I got was clearly microwaved, and my partner sand switch was really easy (a bit of bread and avocado with leaves). Besides eating, the place is really good; its website explains everything you need to know about the place and lets you book certain tables. You notice that there are many thoughts placed in this cafe, so I recommend going as it is for a good thing too. However not for people with cat allergies or mites allergies!!
