Belliou La Fumee - Bourg-Saint-Maurice

We have been coming here for the last 10 years. The food is always amazing and the service exceptional. The location is perfect with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

We reserved a table for six for 2pm and although we enquired several times we were not able to sit down until 3pm but because we were led to believe the food was great we put this behind us. We then still waited for ages before we had service. Orders were placed for food and an expensive bottle of wine only to be told 5 minutes later they had run out of that wine so had to choose an alternative, 3 ordered duck with a request for it to be cooked pink but when they arrived they were not pink but more like red raw, one of our group asked for it to be cooked some more but when the waitress brought it back out there was only a slight improvement. There is no denying that this restaurant has a good reputation but we were not impressed by the quality of service or the simple fact it was made obvious to all of us that they prefer local clientèle

We had a big lunch (12 of us) at the end of a fabulous week in Paradiski. Despite a booking, when we arrived, we were split between 2 tables and the staff resisted all attempts to have us join the tables. Not a great start. The food and wine were, by and large, lovely; in part, spectacular and occasionally disastrous (some very large gambas had to go back to the chef as they were uncooked and still grey!). The service was not quick but we were not bothered and the sun was shining. However, when there became pressure from waiting diners, we were then moved onto 1 big table in order to give up our table to others. Our bill (an impressive one) was not accompanied with a genepi or an apology/deduction for the gambas problem, which was a disappointment.This is obviously a largely fabulous place to eat, was full of rather well heeled French folk and is in a great spot, but it did feel as if it was trading on a reputation which it will quickly lose if diners are treated like we were. Being charitable, I do think that we were unlucky and I would (and have) recommended it to others. I just hope that they have a better time.

This restaurant is an absolute delight. Whether you sit outside on the sunny terrace (they supply Sun hats when necessary!) or inside the cute little restaurant , this place is a gem. The food is outstanding. Not suitable for vegetarians or fussy eaters! ENJOY,

Belliou La Fumée is a gourmet restaurant nested in La Vallée de l'Arc in the French Alps. It has a beautiful terrace a few meters from the ski slopes with a view on the snowy mountains and the spruce forests. This restaurant offers a refined experience and very good food. The presentation is beautiful and the cuisine creative, highlighting the local products from the French Savoie. We highly recommend this place on a sunny skiing day in Les Arcs. Beware of the slopes if you've had too much wine and the delicious Genepi digestive!
