One of my favorite restaurants for an excellent fondue with a breathtaking view! Not much on the menu except what is expected from such a place: traditional Swiss food! Please accompany everything with a glass of white wine and you'll be happy! It's also very affordable! What is not to like? View all feedback.
What Lara Aerts doesn't like about de la Tour-de-Gourze:
déçu..: pousse à la consommation. C'est la 1 ère fois qu'avec des enfants on me refuse de prendre 2 plats adultes à partager,NON il fallait prendre 4 plats pour 4 personnes.....d'ou un surcout de 16 fr,des enfants qui ne mangent pas toute leur assiette..inadmissible..... de plus je commande une bouteille de San Pellegrino et on me sert une bouteille d'eau gazeuse simple sans me dire: nous n'avons pas ce que vous avez... After the last few hundred meters in 2nd or even 1st gear, magnificent view of Lavaux, Lake Geneva and the Haut-Savoie Alps (unless there is mist like today) Welcoming restaurant, good fondues Always so magical and magnificent service Time goes by and it's still just as magnificent. Fondue always as remarkable as the quality of the welcome
Simple and good dishes. Please note that the basic products used are of the highest quality.
Top fondue not to mention the double cream meringue
Incredibly beautiful view! Of course, people come here for the view, first of all. But the food is also very good. Dishes did not have time to photograph. Believe! At lunchtime (1-3 r.m. the tables are occupied. Better to come a little later. And you'll need sunscreen if you want to go up to the observation deck. Very hot in sunny weather.
La Tour de Gourze is an old communications tower used to connect different parts of the canton of Vaud. It's also a traditional Swiss restaurant, run by the same family since ages, serving you fondues, rösti mit Schinken und Spiegeleier and meringues with double cream for a very modest sum of money. You have a magnificent view of the Alps and Lac Leman from almost 1000m altitude and it's thus also a great place for photoshoots. Just beware that the steep and narrow road leading up to La Tour de Gourze may be difficult to negotiate after a snowfall. Highly recommended, if you avoid week-ends during summer, when the place is overcrowded.
