Great service, brilliant eating with a fantastic view of the lake. pauline flavien runs this cozy restaurant perfectly with a natural empathy. Weep and food are surprisingly affordable and the chef flavien manages to create new dishes from local products weekly. prebook. is necessary due to the size of the place.
We just visited this family-run restaurant and were absolutely amazed by the food. everything is prepared by fresh and local ingredients from a young and talented chef. the service was immaculate and the price-performance ratio is quite incredible. we enjoyed a long lunch... about the lake and will definitely come back when the menu is updated every other month.
Thank you so much for your friendly welcome and for the most delicious food and drinks. We have stopped here before and this summer we found that it has become even more fabulous (perhaps under new management? . Normally we just stop for a coffee and...a break on our way to the Alps and enjoy the view over the lake. This time on our way home to the UK we had a fabulous lunch. The wonderful waitress explained the menu in great detail and with obvious passion (what a gem she is! and helped us to make our choices. The home made chips are the best ever! My husband had the steak, cooked in seasoning, which was delicious. I had a wonderfully refreshing salad (perfect on a very hot day . Next time I want to try the fish from the lake below. We were glad we had stopped and were perfectly refreshed for our journey home.
There are two café/restaurants just on the right as you exit the tunnel overlooking the lake and we chose this one because it had a higher terrace and boy, was it fabulous! There are lots of comfy chairs and low tables as well as normal...tables so there is something for everyone. Service was incredibly friendly and they gave the impression it was a pleasure to have our custom. We decided to have ice cream/sorbet and I can highly recommend the apricot and fleur de lait flavours. Prices were very reasonable. We'll definitely go there again when we're passing. (Since writing this I've only just returned home and haven't had time to post so in the meantime we tried the one next door and can definitely say that the service is way more friendly here! The menu is more limited but if it's a a light meal or drink you're after then there is no doubt which we'd prefer!
